If anything, we are all about them basics – the primitive and exquisite form of our most beloved designs, which are brought to life by virtue of reissues!
Last year, Chanel celebrated its Métiers D’Art show, which honors the glory and craftsmanship of its partners, which make mass production of their top-selling products possible. As part of this joyous event, a reissue of the famous Chanel 2.55 has been made…in the form of wallets!
A little backstory about the illustrious history of the Chanel 2.55, though – the bags were named such because they were issued on February 1955. It had to undergo a series of tests for quality control – a process that has been unchanged by Karl Lagerfeld, ‘til this day. Characteristics unique to the product, such as its material, color, hardware and stitching are carefully assessed so as to ensure resistance from wear and tear.
From the collection, two reissues are about to make waves: the aged calfskin zipped wallet, and the card holder. Both of these leather babies bear the Mademoiselle lock, which is suitably named by Coco Chanel herself, as she basked in the glory of being a single woman until her death.

What is it?
Is it because it’s in beige?
Is it the Mademoiselle clasp?
Is it because of the charms?
Or the combination of them all?
You know, these are not simple charms, for example the Coco logo is made with little pearls, while the butterfly is beautifully designed with gem-like orange stones.
It’s certainly a bag you will love and once its yours, it’s Chanel + Paris = Forever.Other Brands
We want to highlight one of the best accessories for the Spring Summer 2015 act 1 Collection. They are mixed up with everything-classic that you and I love, which is why it’s so special.
Designed on three small accessories – the Reissue 2.55 Wallet on Chain, Quilted Wallet and on the phone holder. All the DNA’s are copied straight from the original 2.55 Reissue Flap Bag.

And the leather is a no-brainer, made with aged calfskin to look like it’s been used like a vintage bag. And you will certainly love that.
And the charms stitched on the bag do not need any introduction, they all represent the fashion brand – it’s tradition, history and iconic-related accessories.

Chanel or Hermes, I simply love bags. I simply can’t choose between them, if I could, I would get both of them. But for a bag addicted like me, I am very picky about hand bags.
Chanel’s bag were never that expensive as they are today. How much again? $4,500 PLUS for a classic flap bag? Two years ago they were half in price, if I knew this would happen, I had bought several more.
It is like Chanel is trying to upgrade their brand image and compete on the higher level with exclusive brands like Hermes and others. What is Hermes bag cost? Around $10,000?
Here is a tricky question; Image Chanel flap bag cost $10,000 and the Hermes Birking bag is also priced $10,000. Which bag would you prefer? Chanel or Hermes?
at our site replica hermes bags only $257,replica chanel bags only $187
You do not get these prices just like that, their quality should be questioned. When I went to the Chanel (the secret of Chanel 2.55) (the secret of Chanel 2.55) exhibition, they show how their bags are made. And apparently, most of the production time is being handmade or set-up together manually by an experienced handcraft. Chanel has also specialized machine that nowhere can be bought, because THEY MADE hard time copying them.
Hermes bag should not be any difference. I never went to their exhibition, but I am not surprised the process is about the same, which is hand-made.
On my handbag forum, several Chanel customers have been complaining about the quality of Chanel. One of them are the quality of the leather, some say that they look cheap, dull and non shiny. Others were complaining about the twist-lock back plate, that they are not equal.
When spending that much of money, the quality is important.
Mostly, we buy hand bags because of the feeling. Convince me, how would you feel differently when wearing Chanel comparing with your other $50,- hand bags? If you do not feel anything, then you probably are not a handbag lover.
How does Chanel hand bags make you feel and how Hermes hand bags made you feel are both very important factors. Hermes have been around for a longer time with higher prices and Chanel have just been rising.Other Brands
Attended at the exhibition in New York on the 57th Chanel Jewelry St, the Chanel 2.55 has a quite interesting story. Seats at the exhibition were limited and it was held between the 8th and 16th of May. The common question on everyone’s lips was: “What are the secrets of the Chanel 2.55 handbag?”.
The exhibition featured basically everything about the bag. From modern day production and design, to the bag’s background story. The exhibition featured a 70 inch flat screen television that was put on top to display how exactly the Chanel 2.55 was made. The steps are as follows:
Step One: Cutting
Step Two: Quilting
Step Three: Assembly
Step Four: Shaping
Step Five: Turning Out
Step Six: Chain
Step Seven: Packing
After viewing the birth process of the Chanel 2.55, it makes you anxious to purchase it. The exhibition centered a lot of hype and inspiration on the bag (and for good reason, too).
First, the cutting is carried out by special machines that were personally designed just for Chanel. This is just a piece of the pie, as to why the Chanel 2.55 is an awesome bag to have. More than 80% of the bag’s production time is composed of prep function. Prepping the bag actually involves around 180 stages.
Then a master craftsman puts all the components of the bag together. This can take up to ten hours, only on one bag. The bag is then sewn together inside out. Then it takes another craftsman to turn the bag back out. This takes a lot of skill, and is the main secret behind the Chanel 2.55.
The bag is then screwed together, with the hardware and grommets. Right before the finished product is being polished and prepping for tissue paper wrap, the handbag is finished off with the chain. With all these specifications, imagine how Coco Chanel herself must’ve designed and assembled the original Chanel 2.55 handbag.
The name 2.55 refers to the date that Coco Chanel had released the bag, February 1955. As the years comes by, the popularity of the Chanel 2.55 was vague and was re-introduced by Karl Lagerfeld on February 2005. That’s it got the name: Chanel 2.55 reissued.
Another question I receive quite often is: ‘What are the differences between the classic flap bag and the reissue 2.55?’. There’s indeed a huge distinction between these two bags and it’s not only the size, but more importantly the style.
Chanel just brought back their mini classic flap bag. It was discontinued some time ago, but the new mini flap has a different look. It’s almost similar like the medium classic flap, but then one size smaller. (It was used to be more squared, as far as I know).
Chanel Classic Flap Bags
The Chanel classic flap bags have four sizes sizes: small, medium/large, jumbo and maxi. I am not sure why they named the medium also large, but this bag is actually not as large as you might think. The jumbo is still an okay size, but the maxi is huge.
The Chanel reissue 2.55 handbag is the exact copy of the original 2.55 bag that Coco Chanel has released in 1955. And thanks to Karl Lagerfeld for making that possible, he released the reissue version in February 2005. The Chanel 2.55 has such a long history that you have to love it. It’s vintage and cope perfectly with the modern casual styles.
The Chanel classic flap bag is the modern version of the Chanel 2.55 reissue. I don’t think the classic flap bag could have ever exist if it wasn’t the Chanel 2.55 flap bag. A lot of changes have been made in the inside than the outside. Especially the CC locker is so attractive.
The Chanel 2.55 reissue has a rectangular shape lock. It reference Coco Chanel for never marrying and that’s why it’s called the mademoiselle lock.
Throughout the years, the Chanel 2.55 flap bag has been modified. There were different series of the flap bag introduced, which was very confusing until Karl Lagerfeld came along and made a decisive changes that shaped the Chanel classics you recognize today. Since then, only two classic flap bags are being sold:
1. The Chanel reissue 2.55
2. The Chanel classic flap bag
Most members on Bragmybag prefer the Chanel classic flap bag than the reissue 2.55. That doesn’t mean that the Chanel 2.55 reissue is not attractive, but people prefer the modern version. I have no problem of having the 2.55 reissue too.
