If you can recall what Louis Vuitton’s original Steamer Bag looks like (you know, the one that came with a single top handle that was meant to be hung and collect worn laundry), then you’ll find this one, Nicolas Ghesquière’s interpretation for Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2016 collection, vaguely familiar.
Known as the City Steamer, the only thing that was kept from the original as far as I can tell is the clasp/padlock detailing that sits smack in the middle of the bag. You could also say that it’s structured like the original, with stiff stitched sides giving it that sharp polished finish. The handles, though, seem to be borrowed from the Dora, another bag created during Ghesquière’s ongoing tenure at the French luxury house.
In other words, it’s Louis Vuitton’s answer to the standard work tote with short top handles that come with an additional sling that OLs (or office ladies) the world over can love. The City Steamer comes in 3 sizes, the PM, the MM and the GM. Made of smooth calfskin, the PM measures 26 cm by 23 cm, the MM 31 cm by 26 cm and theGM, 34 cm by 29 cm.

Priced at SGD4850, SGD5600 and SGD6200 respectively for the 3 sizes in smooth calfskin, the ones that come in Black with gold hardware will be, in my opinion, perfect for work especially if you hail from the more serious professions. For everyone else (and for those who want a bit of fun), there’s always the tri-coloured ones, including the one in Vert Fonce that’s shown above.

But if that is still a tad ho-hum for your tastes, well, go for the one that comes with rivets made specially for the Cruise 2016 collection, or the ones in exotic crocodile that are mouth-wateringly droolworthy. Available soon at a Louis Vuitton boutique near you, stay tuned for more updates on the City Steamer right here; I have a feeling this won’t be the only post on this new bag offering anytime soon.Other Brands
Chanel fashion shows are not, by and large, elusive events. They're some of the most well-documented happenings in fashion, with both media and attendees reporting back via traditional industry news channels and social media. That's why it's been so weird that we couldn't get close-up shots of the Chanel Cruise 2016 runway bags until now.
The show itself took place on Seoul, South Korea, in early May, and since then, all we've seen of the collection was through traditional, straight-on runway photos, which aren't very helpful when trying to spot the bags carried at models' sides. Usually Chanel distributes its own detail shots to media in the days after a show, but they haven't surfaced for Cruise.
Women's Wear Daily did manage to get its hands on a couple Chanel Cruise 2016 accessories lookbook images for the first installment of its Best of Resort 2016 series. Below, check out some images of the collection's intricate woven bags, floral cuffs and more.
How fun could it be if we met? We could sit on the terrace on a sunny day…sipping cocktail (no alcohol at afternoon) and talking about handbags all day long – Chanel bags, Dior bags, Price increases, where to shop and there are no ending stories about FENDI handbags.
Yes it’s almost time to release the Cruise 2016 Collection, so FENDI dropped the ad campaign as a teaser.
And ladies… it’s an OMG teaser. Highlights please!
A lovely bag, like a baby – Embellished with sequins and rose studs (by the way, the studs looks like yummie candies). So cute that I want to have it now. And so tiny that you can carry it with just one finger. I hope it comes with a shoulder strap because that will be ‘perfect’!
Looking at the front-clasp, I guess this bag is the Fendi Baby PeekaBoo.
Because we’re talking about baby bags, how about we finish it with the ‘Bag Bugs Backpack’ in tiny size. It’s the exact same bag bugs backpack only it has shrunk until it cannot get smaller. It’s a beautiful bag and they should put a wrist-strap around it or better a shoulder strap because…
I do not think you can carry it on your shoulder.

Imagine your world surrounded with the prettiest things in the world, they’re all yours…these handbags. You can smell the brand-new leather, the beautiful print, the experience of Dior’s traditional craftsmanship.
How beautiful would that world be?
Presenting Dior Cruise 2016 Bag Collection – another series of stunning accessories, like the Diorissimo in multi-colored print. This is truly the one of the best everyday bag you can find. Made from exotic leather, even the DIOR charm is crafted to match the design.
Signature bags are always a good investment. The logo CD, Christian Dior has been embellished everywhere on the bag. A few are colored in white with red letters, to help you flaunt was day to night. This is a new bag, it can hold shape and has plenty of spacious to carry your daily items.
One more things, this is a gorgeous handbag with oversized chain. This white version with flower print is to-die-for. The perfect summer bag!
So what do you think?
Right now, there's a little film festival going on in Cannes that you might have heard of, but before that started up for another year, Christian Dior used the picturesque French Riviera city as the backdrop for its Cruise 2016 runway show. Even if the bags weren't notable (they are), it'd be hard to dislike anything in that context.
The only new shape to emerge from this show was a bucket bag, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's been watching the market over the past few seasons--easy, casual buckets are here to stay, and even brands that have resisted are starting to realize they should get on board to capture consumer interest. These buckets, of course, come with signature Dior details.
The rest of the bags are in line with what fans have come to expect from the brand, although I didn't find myself as thrilled while paging through this collection as I have been when seeing the previous couple for the first time. Let us know what you think in the comments. (Although sign me up for one of those cerulean Dioramas, of course.)
