Tod's is a brand we all know, but its bags haven't been the center of much discussion among us (or among our readers) for a while. I've loved some of Tod's major shoe released, and the bags have always been very pretty, but there just hadn't been one that caught my attention until I saw the super fun Tod's Secchiello Bag.
The metal polka dots help this bag stand out, and the bucket bag trend is still super hot right now. Check out how my Tod's Secchiello Bag scores in our Purseonals ratings below!

Among all of the bucket bags out there, this bag from Tod's manages to stand out. The bag is adorned with large polka dots in shiny metal, and in the month or so since I started carrying this bag, I've been complemented on it often. There are so many bucket bags on the market that a design needs interesting details to be appealing, and this Tod's bag has just that.
The color combo is beautiful: a creamy hue with just a touch of peach, alongside the golden metal dots. There are two long handles to carry the bag, and they sit on the sides in an interesting way. I love this bag because it feels different from any other that I own, which gives it a great aesthetic rating.
Tod's pays great attention to detail and this bag shows it; the ends of the drawstring have heavy cylindrical pulls, and the bag's base is diamond-shaped instead of a traditional, circular bucket. Also, each metal polka dot is so shiny that you can use it as a mirror--I may or may not have checked my smile in this bag on a number of occasions.

When I reviewed my Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag, I mentioned how hard it is to make a bucket bag functional. The reason this bag is more functional is the compact size.
On top of that, there's something a little different about the shape--the bottom of the bag is more of a diamond than circle. This makes the bag less of an endless pit, and I love that. When I reach inside, I can find what I am looking for rather easily, but a lot of that also has to do with the smaller size.
The inside of the bag is unlined, and there is no inside pocket. But with the dimensions being so compact, I can't really see a pocket being helpful in any way. One of my issues with the bag is the double loop shoulder straps. I love a nice, long strap, but the issue with these is sometimes they fall off my shoulder easily. If I place the bag on a table and go to pick it up, I often find the straps are a bit tangled.
But overall, this bag is easy to carry and use and easy to get in and out of. My biggest issue with the mini size is it doesn't fit my continental zip wallet, and I hate having to take my wallet contents out and put them in another card holder. I like a bag that is compact but can still fit my essentials, and I count my wallet in my essentials list.

One of the first things I noticed about this bag is how incredibly soft and luxurious the leather is, both in feel and smell. I love touching the bag and feeling the durability of the leather. The inside is unlined, but I kind of like the look of an unlined bag, especially when the leather is nice.
When you hold this bag in your hands, the quality is easy to see. Each stitch is in place, the leather is the highest quality and the metal detailing holds in place well. I've slung this bag over my shoulder for weeks straight, thrown it on the back of my chair and tossed it to and fro in the car, and it has yet to show wear.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find this exact bag for sale right now; it was recently marked down and now appears to be sold out online. The original price was $1,765, which was then cut 40% off to $1,059. The $1,059 price tag is great for this bag, and it's hard for me to give a proper rating based on the actual price versus the sale price.
The original price was probably a bit high for the mini size; it would have been better suited for the medium size, which was originally $2,875. I kept in mind the fact that the bag is unlined and didn't feature additional interior aspects for the price tag. However, the quality of materials used and the metal detailing would bring up the price some.

This bag is definitely not as classic as some other Tod's designs, but even with the adornments, it's not overly trendy. I like the sweet spot this bag occupies, with just enough personality to help it stand apart while not being too plain at the same time. The colors make it easy to carry for many seasons, and the style doesn't distract too much.
Of course our staying power category ends up ranking bags that are tried and true classics and the more straight forward designs higher. But I really like this bag and while I give it 3.5 stars here, it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a great bag. There are other versions of the Secchiello that don't have the metal additions which make the bag more classic, and those are readily available on Tod's now.

This bag comes in right under 4 stars, at 3.9 stars out of 5. The bag is easy to wear, lightweight, well-made and stands apart from other bags. Your only issue right now is tracking this exact bag down if you are looking for it, but I am sure Tod's will have new bags coming soon and hopefully will add more bags to this family.
