The must-have shoes of Spring ’16? Leather slip-ons! There are already plenty to choose between, from the skate shoe-inspired to the extremely minimalist, but none are as chic as Derek Lam’s handcrafted Santa Monica slippers. Derek has a way of elevating even the most basic of staples, and you need not look past his latest casual shoe to see that.
Soft nappa leather, in your choice of black, natural cream, or khaki green, has been delicately laser-cut to deliver a peekaboo effect, perfect for when you want to get in the mode for spring without wearing an open-toed style. Speaking of delicate, these ingeniously embroidered slip-ons are just nuanced enough to go with anything from your new floral dress to ripped jeans to chic yoga gear. Sure, they’ll look great strolling down their namesake Santa Monica pier, but they’re also versatile enough to wear just about anywhere. Get creative, and style them to your heart’s content. Derek Lam sneakers at Derek Lam for $595.

Lily James, the titular star of Disney’s new live-action Cinderella, donned an ethereal Elie Saab gown and a pair of Christian Louboutin Cinderella Slippers to the movie’s Hollywood premiere this past weekend. These limited edition slippers were first released in 2012, in collaboration with Disney. As you can imagine, they are no longer available for sale, online or in-store, but you can shop a broad selection of Louboutin.
Louboutin’s Cinderellas were originally intended to commemorate the rerelease of Disney’s animated version of Cinderella on Blu-ray and DVD, so it makes sense that they’d reappear here. On a related note, Charlotte Olympia is just about to roll out a brand new, officially licensed Disney collab, complete with PVC “glass” slippers, and Lily dutifully carried a clutch from the new Olympia collection when she wasn’t hard at work showing off those Louboutins.

All right then, I cannot deny, the Chanel CC Espadrilles are hot. They are so hot that they were literally sold-out immediately after the launch. All Chanel-fans were screaming for a pair.
But perhaps because it was summer and everyone need some comfy shoes. All the ladies that bought a pair of Espadrilles, all of them told me that they loved it. So it’s a must have.
And how about the latest Chanel Slippers from the Cruise 2015 Collection, oh I love these too. They are, how to put it? Different! With ‘tweed’ finishing on the top and open on the back, you need to tie it with little golden strings. It comes with a 10 mm heel, also made in golden hardware. Compare to the Chanel CC Espadrilles, these newest slippers feel a bit more luxurious.
But for those that love to wear slippers at work or if you need a pair to match your formal clothing (or for the business occasions), then take them in ‘suede’. They are available in ‘easy-to-match’ colors like beige and black.
Now I do not know the prices yet, but if I can get more information, we will keep you informed. So what do you think? These Chanel Slippers or the CC Espadrilles?
